Later this month, Baku in Azerbaijan is hosting COP29 – the annual United Nations gathering aimed at negotiating global strategies to address climate change.
The 2 week conference incorporates various initiatives to combine global expertise in addressing significant challenges to our planet, including a World Leaders Climate Action Summit and themed sessions aimed at an inclusive approach to climate resilience and sustainable development.
Taking collective action now to address climate change has never been more important. We see businesses putting sustainability at their core, recognising not only the impact of their own activities but also the demands of their customers. We all want to do more, including investors.
Private market impact funds have seen significant growth, with more investors seeking investments that align with their values while offering competitive returns. There is extensive evidence linking ‘doing good’ with financial success, and achieving both is no longer considered mutually exclusive.
A recent World Economic Forum article on the impact fund market highlighted that over the last 4 years these investments have seen a surge in demand, driven by a wider awareness of global challenges such as climate change and social inequality.
This month we’re focussing on sustainability as our theme, with 2 dedicated pitch events featuring investment opportunities and expert speakers giving insights into key trends and considerations.
More details below and more to follow in the run up to these events later this month.
