Lee is an engineering and energy-transition leader with a track record of helping organisations make confident, evidence-based decisions across complex energy, maritime and infrastructure environments.

He brings more than two decades of experience delivering major offshore and onshore projects, sharing sector-wide transition strategies and guiding the adoption of emerging technologies that accelerate decarbonisation.

His career includes senior roles at BP, where he led global concept development for multi-billion-dollar projects, authored the company’s engineering management framework, and introduced new approaches that improved project predictability, safety and commercial performance.

He later served as Director of Strategy and Energy Transition at the International Marine Contractors Association, where he repositioned the organisation as a technical and policy authority for offshore construction, delivering industry-first programmes on vessel electrification, ports decarbonisation and EU-level advocacy.

Lee has advised operators, technology ventures and consultancies, and public bodies on hydrogen infrastructure, CCS concepts, advanced battery systems, emissions-monitoring technologies, and operational improvement programmes that delivered significant commercial and environmental benefits.

He is recognised for aligning boards, regulators and technical teams around clear, actionable strategies that balance regulatory, commercial and operational priorities.

A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Lee contributes to the Energy, Environment and Sustainability Group, supporting professional development and policy engagement across the energy transition.
