Internet Retailing recently revealed that Vinted is now the third largest fashion retailer in the UK, after Primark and Next, giving further evidence that Environmental Sustainability is now considered mainstream.

Being sustainable is no longer a “nice to have” addition to a product or service, it’s now a major decision driver.

The Drapers Sustainability and The Consumer Report 2026 concurred with this view and gave further insights about the evolving conscious consumer and the sustainability landscape.

In its survey of 2,000 UK shoppers across various demographics:

83% of consumers say sustainability now influences their fashion purchasing decisions, with younger shoppers leading the shift.

56% actively factor in sustainability considerations into buying decisions.

Overall, the report concludes that demand is real and growing for sustainable products, but price and trust are key to success.

As trends and behaviour continue to evolve there’s no doubt that taking care of our planet and making a profit can be successfully combined into a business  model that can deliver on both fronts.

The winners will be brands that make sustainability affordable, credible and effortless for consumers.

This month, we’re focussing on Sustainability as a theme, culminating in a Virtual Pitch Event featuring Female-Led businesses within Environmental Sustainability.
